As Teaching and Learning Manager, Emily works to support teachers and school leaders across Freire’s four schools in implementing rigorous, high-quality curriculum and instruction that centers student thinking, growth, and achievement. 

Emily has been a member of the Freire community since 2019, when she started as an 11th grade Algebra 2 teacher at TECH Freire Charter High School. While she was a classroom teacher, Emily served as Content Team Chair where she developed and led PLCs for math teachers and co-teachers at TECH and throughout the Freire Network. Since then, Emily has worked as an instructional coach at TECH Freire where she coached math and elective teachers with varying levels of experience. Prior to joining Freire Schools, Emily taught high school mathematics in the South Carolina Public Schools. 

Emily believes that all students deserve a rigorous, equitable education and is excited to continue to serve Freire students across all campuses to ensure that all students are prepared for success in college and beyond.
