Peer observations and non-evaluative feedback and coaching are essential parts of Freire Schools teachers’ growth and success. Freire Schools teachers engage in regular, content-driven coaching cycles where they receive targeted feedback from expert teacher-leaders and members of their school’s leadership team to drive reflection and growth. Teachers are also encouraged to actively seek out and learn from students’ feedback. All teachers within grade levels and content areas have regular common planning time to drive alignment and enable collaboration, and meet regularly to reflect on student data, hone their content expertise, and build their toolkit of instructional practices.
